From my basic understandning about Futurecasting:

understand first the present of new media
analyze the existing strand of new media
work out the solution before others
predicting the future development
to be a leader, instead of follower

what I expect to this elective:

Introduction of Futurecasting (overall understanding)
analysis of existing new media (give examples)
suggested solution (brainstorming together, encourage students to have creative ideas)
predict the future development (include some exercises)
future development can be new media, interactive design, technology...etc.
